Bertie wasn't aloud outside the gates of the compound. In the compound he found a white lion that didn't have a mother because his father had killed its mother because it was eating all the cattle. So he ran out of the compound gates and took the white lion home with him. The white lion cub and him were like best friends, they slept,played and ate together. After a few years his parents sold the white lion to a Frenchman because he had to go to boarding school in England, he was very sad.
